Hot off the press, below are links to October’s market stats for Virginia, Maryland and the District.

Washington area home prices were up 4.3% in the third quarter, a stronger posting than many other areas of the country. Median prices rose in 77 of the nation’s 155 largest cities, according to a report by the National Association of Realtors.

Year-over-year, though, existing home prices were up even higher in the Washington market! The National Association of Realtors says existing home prices in Washington were up 8.4 percent compared to October 2009, with a median price of $327,700. Existing home sales in Washington were down 23.9 percent.
