Homes Sold in 2005

It was the Boom Boom Pow Year as lenders lent more, builders built more, and buyers bought more. “Gotta get-get” was the theme song of these heady days. Even though prices started to go through the roof, easing lending standards made it so that almost anyone could attain the American dream of owning their own home. There was a sense of urgency as buyers snapped up properties afraid that prices would continue to rise quickly and they would miss out on the party. Sellers saw their homes and property dramatically appreciate and came to think of their homes as an investment or their own ATM. The stage was set for cranked up revelers to put their hands in the air for the good times … or perhaps it was more ready for a foreboding Swan song of a overheated market as economists were starting to predict.
